While you can replace marquees, vehicles, tools and furniture; there is one thing you cannot get off the shelf. Knowledgeable, skilled and dedicated staff. When you plan a marquee wedding you need to know that you can ask questions and get an honest and accurate answer. Enabling you to make your own ideas work. You need to know that the marquee is going to turn up on time, and be finished to a high standard. You need to know that the team setting up is going to be flexible and work with you communicating with you every step of the way. The main question to ask yourself is, do you want these people involved in your wedding?

Planning and building a wedding marquee should be a pleasurable experience from first to last, working with a team that will enhance the experience is essential.

At South West Marquees, we believe in this so strongly that we have a large number of staff that work for us all year round, not as second job, not as a holiday gap fill, but as a career. We invest heavily in training and maintaining this dedicated team. We supply such a wide range of marquees, furniture and lighting, that it takes years to learn the job inside out. The average years’ service of our 10-person full time team is over 10 years which is very unusual in the event industry. Every year we also pick seasonal staff that show great potential to stay on full time to ever increase our team.

Between the stages of quotation and delivery, you will be dealing regularly with our office staff. Unlike many, we keep a full time all year-round office team so that phone calls and emails get answered in a timely manner. If you contact the office, you will usually speak to Natalie, who runs this side of the business and is very knowledgeable and efficient, or Gabriel the General Manager. You need to know that you will not be waiting days for a reply to an email, planning a wedding is complicated enough without this. At South West Marquees we aim to reply to emails within 4 hours on a working day, we have 3 phone lines which are often buzzing in the summer. Out of hours we have a 24hr emergency line.

Team leaders take on a job from start to finish, so when you first meet on a site visit, that team leader will be working on your job from that point and will be in charge of the installation. We believe it is important to be able to put a face to a job so you know you can build a relationship. The team leader will not leave until they are sure that you are completely happy with everything. Our team leaders can often offer really sound advice on site working from their years of experience. They always advise what they feel is best for you, not what is most profitable to us.
